Why "Fuzzy Logic"?
Traditional robotics is based on black-and-white, zero-or-one logic. But humans don’t think and communicate in black-and-white—we live in a world of colors. Trying to use human language and human concepts to talk to a traditional robot leads to misunderstandings, and robots that do what we asked… but definitely not what we wanted.
Most robot systems try to make humans change their communication to match
the robot’s black-and-white style, i.e. programming languages. Our software changes the way the robot communicates so it can understand humans’ “fuzzy” and nuanced logic.
Humans can interact with robots in a natural way instead of contorting ourselves into a traditional robot’s black-and-white view.
